To provide a range of developmental courses that allow all students, on entry to the college, to begin a mathematics sequence at a stage appropriate to their numeracy level. To provide the service courses needed for technology, business and liberal arts students. To provide the major sequence courses for students intending to transfer in Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, Engineering, and the Health professions. To encourage exploration and evaluation of innovative approaches to teaching mathematics. To ensure that students completing their Freshman/Sophomore math sequence will transfer as juniors to four-year schools on more than equal terms with their non-transfer peers.
